Old-fashioned Soap Suds Enema

This enema was used by grandmothers and mothers for years, and is still in use in many homes today.
Soap suds enemas are used to stimulate the  colon and help move the unwanted material towards the anus to facilitate a  bowel movement.

I think that many of us remember being over mothers or grandmothers lap being filled with warm soapy solution saying we were full and couldn't hold anymore. Being told what a big boy or girl we were and that there was not much more to go.
There always seemed more to go especially when you were cramping.

In years past people believed that the only way to have a good enema was too use soap in the enema solution.
Also they believed that you needed to use as much solution as possible to achieve a good enema, consequently most of the
enema bags or enema cans manufactured at that time held anywhere from 2 qts. to 4 qts.

During those times you often found the family enema bag hanging on the back of the bathroom door, drying ready for the next use.

Many families had a regular enema time schedule set up usually once a week, or anytime that someone did not feel well.
If you were an adult or child and complained of an upset stomach usually the first thing that happened was that you were given a hot soap suds enema.

At times if you were grumpy or misbehaving you were given a hot soap suds enema and depending upon what you had done you also got an old-fashioned spanking. Usually the enema was enough to change your attitude. Many a bad attitude was adjusted with this simple procedure.

Enema Recipe:

2 qts. of warm  filtered water.
Dissolve approximately 1/10 of a bar of  Kirk's Original Coco Castile Soap or Conti Castile Soap in the 2 qts. of water.
New organic soap made especially for enema's   Frankincense and Myrrh Enema Soap     Chamomile and Sage Enema Soap mixing as you add the warm water.
They also make a  liquid Castile soap that will mix easier with your water water.
Temperature 105°Fahrenheit

Directions:

Add solution to enema bag, mixing with warm filtered water to achieve 2 qts.
Hang enema bag about 18 in. to 3 ft. above rectum. A good tool for this is the IV Stand for Enemas
If you need better flow control of the enema solution.  The  ramp clamp is what you are looking for.
Knee-chest position with chest against floor and rectum higher than head this is a best position to receive an enema.
Insert nozzle/rectal tube tip into anus, using lubricant ( Super Salve  Surgilube   Vaseline 13oz. ) as needed.
Inject solution into rectum slowly, and take as much as possible , refill bag as needed or until it becomes very uncomfortable to take any more solution.
Massage abdomen in counter-clockwise direction this will help the solution higher into the colon.
When bag is empty or no more fluid can be taken remove nozzle/rectal tube, if you have trouble retaining the solution you might want to try a  retention nozzle. Although some people prefer to use a retention plug after they received their enema solution and removed the nozzle.
Lie on each side for a few minutes, while massaging abdomen.
Now you can move to the toilet and release the enema.

Repeat as needed.

Remember you should take a  warm water rinse enema after a soap suds enema to remove the soap solution from the intestinal walls. Otherwise the soap will keep irritating the intestine lining for a time.

Massage:
When receiving the enema:

Massage abdomen in a counter-clockwise direction this will help move the solution higher into the colon.

Massaging the abdomen during the administration of an enema will help the recipient except more of the enema solution.

When expelling the enema:
Massage abdomen in a clockwise direction this will help move the solution back toward the rectum and anus.

Massaging the abdomen while expelling the enema helps move the solution and feces toward the rectum and out the anus.
