| At one time or another almost everyone has mild
constipation. Dehydration is usually the cause or diet and lack of exercise. In most cases, constipation is temporary and not serious. Understanding causes, prevention, and treatment will help most people find relief. |
| Mild constipation can be defined as not having a
bowel movement for two or three days. A normal bowel movement should happen one or more times daily to ensure a healthy colon. Their are many articles saying that normal bowel movements can be anywhere from one a day to one every three or four days. However almost everybody knows that the longer the time between bowel movements we start becoming increasingly uncomfortable even so far as becoming ill. So it stands to reason that having a bowel movement at least once a day is an important health regimen. |
| You can relieve mild constipation quickly with a
simple
warm water enema. Or you can take a chemical laxative and wait anywhere from 24 to 48 hours before it takes effect. During that time your abdomen is groaning and gurgling plus you feel horrible. Usually laxatives take effect during a very inconvenient time. |
