Pure Natural Herbal Enemas
Have several advantages over herbal teas, while the actual product is the same. Some people do not like the flavour of herbal infusions and may thus try them as enemas. Also when orally consumed, some active substances are attacked, weakened or destroyed by gastric juices before they can be absorbed by the body. The mucous membrane of the bowels can absorb the original active substances from a liquid injected as an enema much faster and better, thus an enema provides the best and fastest way to get nature to work!
Pure natural infusions are not considered to be drugs, despite their mild medicinal properties. They are great for prophylactic use and suitable not only for oral consumption or as enemas but also for vaginal irrigation.

Every day totally untrained patients help teach enema procedures to student nurses and nurse's aides. Teaching home health care is part of many nursing programs. The appropriate use of the home Herbal Enemas historically has been a part of that mission. Given that encouragement the home enemas benefits is often shared within families.

This page is to give a foundation in the physical methods of giving and receiving Herbal Enemas, for that no doctor's degree is required. The Herbal Enemas can be a warm filling experience that is neither painful nor unpleasant if given properly in the absence of disease. Giving them is not so common or so readily learned by all that are taught. This has caused much misinformation and fear of the procedure. The use of the enema is only vaguely broached in nursing education. The procedure accounts for rarely more than a few pages in most medical text. It is almost unmentioned in medical education.

Our young mother having read how to from the drug store box and successfully given an enema is probably as well prepared to give Herbal Enemas as many professionals. This is especially true since she likely has had experience on the receiving end of the procedure. Receiving one requires even less training. Those that are bright enough to be able to remove their underwear, have good sphincter tone and lie quietly for five or so minutes usually do quite well.

The success or failure of the procedure depends patient cooperation. The first principle is gentleness and a respect for the dignity and apprehensions of the patient. Receiving an enema does not require great intelligence. It does require a bare bottom and sharing the function of the bowels with another person. Many people are quite embarrassed by this and the whole process. Communication, reassurance and a kindly reassuring manner help.

Preparation of the patient involves first informing them of what is to be done and gaining their cooperation. They should urinate and attempt to have a bowel movement before an enema. Preparation includes having a warm place to receive the enema. A patient that is cold will usually have difficulty in receiving a good enema. The room  temperature should be at least 72 degrees, and if there is fever or chills warmer would be better. Having an enema in a sauna is a great location. Most enemas are given in bed with feet kept warm under blankets and sheets protected by a water proof pad.

A bed or treatment table or floor may be used so long as it is comfortable. If given on the floor, a mat or blanket will make the surface more palatable and avoid chilling the patient. A floor can drain the heat from a person when the room is quite warm. On a bed or treatment table, protect the surface with towels or if possible a vinyl or rubber sheet covered with a towel. Not all patients hold their enemas well and cleaning a bed can be difficult.

Natural Herbal Enemas have several advantages over herbal teas, while the actual product is the same. Some people dislike the flavor of herbal infusions and may instead want to try them as enemas. Also when orally consumed, some active substances are attacked, weakened or destroyed by gastric juices before they can be absorbed by the body. The mucous membrane of the bowels can absorb the original active substances from the liquid injected as an enema much faster and better, thus an enema provides the best and fastest way to get nature to work!
Natural infusions are not considered to be drugs, despite their mild medicinal properties. They are great for prophylactic use and suitable not only for oral consumption or as enemas but also for fomentation's or for vaginal irrigation.

Recommended strength for herbal enema injections:
1 tea bag for up to 200 cc - 2 tea bags for up to 500 cc - 3 tea bags for up to one liter - 4 tea bags for up to 2 liters of enema solution. (1 tea bag = 1tablespoon of powdered or ground herb.)

Preparation of enema solution:
Pour boiling water over infusion bag's) and let it draw/steep for 5-10 minutes. Stir thoroughly. Remove bag's), let cool or mix with cold water until the liquid has approximately body temperature and desired amount . No other additive is needed!

For best effect we recommend the following procedure:
1. Start with one or two cleansing enemas to clear the colon and lower parts of the bowels and to clean the intestinal lining. Cleansing enemas should be just plain warm water enema or mild warm soap suds enema, followed by plain warm water to rinse the soap from the colon.

2. Administer herbal enema, to be held for 15 to 30 minutes or longer if possible in order to allow a maximum of active substances to be absorbed. Slow administration helps to gain time and to avoid irritations. Ideal is long, soft rubber colon tube with small diameter, knee-chest position with elevated back and lowered chest, and administration by second person.

3. Empty bowels & rest or sleep!

Volume & Frequency
Please note that there is no rule for the volume of enemas - they may be small or large, depending on preferences and capability. Any enema procedure should be aborted or interrupted immediately in case of pain occurring other and mild cramping. Please proceed with utmost care when administering enemas to yourself or others.

Frequency of herbal enemas is just as much a matter of personal preferences and opportunities. Once a month, once a week or intensive treatment daily over a short period of time is all possible. The wish and desire counts more than any rule - following a principle to follow the calls and signals of our own body rather than any rules set up by other people.

Suggestion for an intensive treatment:
Consume herbal infusion at least 3 times daily as tea plus 1-2 times daily as enema. Repeat for 2-3 days (possibly a weekend). Best results if combined with fasting - with weight reduction as side effect welcomed by many.

The effects of plants as described on here are suggestions taken from the experience of herbal folk medicine as shown in literature on herbs and their effects. They neither claim to be complete nor do they guarantee any result or success.

When expelling the enema:
Massage abdomen in a clockwise direction this will help move the solution back toward the rectum and anus.

Massaging the abdomen while expelling the enema helps move the solution and feces toward the rectum and out the anus.
