We firmly believe that enemas can substantially help people's lives, reduce the amount of time that one is sick, lessen the number of times that a person needs to take prescription drugs such as antibiotics and depression medication, relieve constipation and help to heal the body from chronic illnesses.

I know that there is a rich tradition of taking, giving and receiving enemas out there that is being lost. We want to help bring it back.

Our most important job is to bring this simple folk remedy back to the people, to help heal themselves, to lift the veil of shame that has covered the use of this helpful healing tool..

  • ARE ENEMAS SAFE?
With very minor instruction and if your only intestinal related health problem is constipation,  then absolutely! If you are unsure check with your health care provider before using. You should always check with your health care provider to see if you are healthy enough to use enemas

  • What is the key to a successful enema?
While there is much written about getting the enema inside you. The most overlooked part is eliminating your enema. Nowadays, it is common knowledge that standard porcelain toilets ARE NOT ADEQUATE. The reason is because they are too low to the ground and keep your knees down and the colon kinked. The solution is to bring your knees up into a squatted position. This tiny adjustment ensures that you will expel all of the enema that you put inside you. This is important when pooping on a regular basis, but of vital importance after an enema.

There is actually a nifty solution that a couple of doctors just came up with to help folks like us eliminate correctly.

It's called the Squatty Potty. Click here to learn more about the Squatty Potty I highly recommend you take the time to understand this. It could just change your life.

  • HOW OFTEN CAN I take an ENEMA?
If you are chronically constipated, it’s OK to start out taking an enema daily.

But soon the muscular walls of your lower intestine will begin to tone-up and you will experience better and more natural bowel movements.
(Try to establish a regular time for natural bowel movement and never ignore the urge to have a bowel movement.)

  • I'm CONSTIPATED. How can I fix this?
I highly recommend starting with a cleanse to cure your constipation.
Constipation happens because you have a blockage in your bowels. You will set the foundation for easy, consistent, bowel movements, by first starting with a thorough cleanse. For more information and a great product I have used with much success, do the Total Wellness Cleanse (click here).  (Also, try to establish a regular time for natural bowel movement and never ignore the urge to have a bowel movement.)

  • HOW MUCH LIQUID SHOULD I USE.
Most physicians try to limit the amount of liquid to use to about 2 quarts.
Many recommend the amount of 3 quarts maximum, or as much as you can comfortably hold administered very slowly to lessen cramping.

It’s important to remember that enemas should never hurt beyond some mild cramping.
If you never use force to administer or retain your enema the threat of stretching the large intestine is essentially eliminated.

  • SHOULD I ADD SOAP OR OTHER INGREDIENTS TO MY ENEMA?
If you’re constipated or if you have been taking laxatives then your bowel is irritated enough already! No .
It disturbs the mucous and irritates the lining of the intestine.
However there are some additives for enemas that could be soothing and beneficial.

  • SOME PEOPLE TAKE Acidophilus to replace "GOOD BACTERIA"
After an enema is this necessary.  (Not Really)

But it won't hurt. An enema usually only upsets the bad (anaerobic) bacteria in the colon,
Enemas can actually create a healthier environment for the beneficial bacteria to multiply in.

  • WILL USING ENEMAS UPSET MY CHEMICAL BALANCE? (NO)
You can lose some salts but these are readily replaced by using organic Celtic sea salt with your meals.
or by adding 1 tsp. of  Celtic sea salt to each quart of your enema water.
Actually, constipation can disrupt your chemical balance much more than a daily enema could.

  • DOES THE INSERTION OF THE RECTAL TIP HURT? (Not really.)
Use a lubricant on the anus and rectal tip

  • CAN I HARM MYSELF WITH IT? (YES)
You need to take extra care when inserting anything into the rectum.
So you do not injure the sensitive membranes in the anus or rectum. Extra care needs to be taken if you have hemorrhoids.
The tip is easy to insert but you need to take some care when inserting it. Never use force .
Always use a good lubricant such as  ( Super Salve) or some other lubricant.

  • CAN I USE ENEMAS WHILE FASTING? (Absolutely! )
Fasting is a great way to help rid the body of toxins. But, when you stop eating, the bowel usually slows down, leaving a residual of old stool in the lower bowel. So by taking enemas along with your fast you increase the elimination of this caked on stool and toxins.

  • ARE ENEMAS AS GOOD AS COLONIC IRRIGATION?

Colonics are the top of the line in bowel cleansing.  Although Colonics can be expensive and inconvenient.

Enemas used correctly can be as effective as a colonic irrigation.  They cause the elimination of the waste and toxins inhabiting the large intestine even after years of constipation.

  • CAN I BECOME DEPENDENT ON ENEMAS?
Over time, chronic constipation causes the thinning and weakening of the muscles of the bowel wall.
Taking large volume enemas can actually help reestablish muscle tone and improve intestinal function.
I can't think of a more natural way to exercise the bowel.

Of course some people can be psychologically predisposed to dependency on enemas.
At least with the use of an enema they are better off than if they were chronically constipated!

  • WHAT IS THE BEST POSITION FOR TAKING AN ENEMA?
While the  Left Side position is the most often used. The most effective position is the
Knee Chest position and the best for taking an enema. It allows the solution to flow smoothly into the colon. Making it easier to fill the entire colon.
