This type of enema is held in the rectum and sigmoid
colon for a specific period of time so the colon can absorb most of the the solution.
This enema is normally held from a few minutes to a couple of hours and then you release. |
| Bulb or Ball syringes are
normally used for small volume enemas but you can use a clear
enema bag they work great to monitor your intake of solution. Fill only the rectum and
sigmoid colon with enema solution. The syringe is filled by squeezing the air out of the
bulb, placing the tip of the bulb syringe into the water or solution, and releasing the
bulb which creates suction to fill the bulb syringe with the liquid. Using a bulb syringe fill it with choice of solution. Temperature should be approximately 103°Fahrenheit Now take the bulb syringe with the solution and inject it into the rectum. Hold the solution in your rectum for 30 minutes to an hour to absorb the nutrients or minerals. You can fill an enema bag with warm water if wanted to completely fill the colon. |
