A colon is about 6 feet long. Its primary purpose is to dehydrate and store the liquid stool that enters it. The colon begins in the right lower abdomen where the small intestine ends. This part of the colon is called the cecum.
The cecum, (or cecum) is the part of the colon that sits just below the outlet of the small intestine which expels liquid feces into the colon. This is the part of the colon with the largest diameter.

When taking a large volume enema, the cecum is the area you are trying to reach, fill and slightly distend.
